Common Issues

Here are some common issues we’ve encountered and ways to address them.

Notetab is not visible

First make sure you’re logged in when attempting to view. Notes are only accessible to logged in users.

Then make sure you’ve enabled notes on the content types you’d like users to be able to take notes from:

Then try switching the placement of the notepad icon to see if it’s being hidden by the theme. Try all locations available.

404 or “Page Not Found”

This happens when another plugin changes the WordPress link structure (otherwise known as permalinks.) Most of them time this can easily be solved by going to Settings > Permalinks within the WordPress admin and clicking “save” at the bottom. You don’t have to change anything, just click “save.”

No bold, italic, underline, etc… buttons on note editor

This happens on occasion to admin users. All you need to do is remove them from the course where you’re experiencing the issue and re-add them.

Clicking the note icon doesn’t do anything

This is a javascript error and is almost always a conflict with another plugin or theme. Try disabling all your other plugins and see if the note pad appears as expected. If it does, try enabling plugins one by one to find the one that’s causing the conflict.

If disabling your plugins don’t work, try switching to the WordPress twentyseventeen theme to see if that rectifies the issue.
